You must be over 18 years of age to rent the boat, but it is not a requirement that you have experience or a certificate for leading a boat. However, it requires that you are sober throughout the voyage. If you have experience or have a certificate for guiding a boat (speedboat certificate), then you have a larger maneuvering room for sailing in our boats. On our handed out tablet you will be able to see where you can sail in the Dragør area with and without experience.
All that and how to lead the boat we explain when you arrive.
You cancel by sending us an email at info@wesail.dk. If you do so 24 hours before your booking, we will make sure you get the full amount refunded. Then check the weather forecast www.dmi.dk the day before your booking.
We hope you take a picnic basket on board and enjoy the marine environment with a light snack. We have some snacks and drinks in the office for sale, but most things you need to bring. Of course, we assume that you take your waste home again, so you can enjoy the pure nature the next time you rent a WeSail boat.
WeSail's are both equipped with an anchor and a bathing ladder, so it is possible to take a dip. However, there must always be a person in the boat when bathing, for safety reasons. Ask us about this when you come out to us.
You must bring photo ID (Driving license or passport). In addition, you must bring a phone so you can call us if something goes wrong during the voyage, or we will be in contact with you.
You will be given a life jacket for each person on board. And we recommend that you wear it throughout the voyage. In addition, you get a tablet computer with a card inserted so you always know where you are. In addition, there is some safety equipment on board the boat (oars, ladle, anchor, bathing ladder, extra gas can). You are of course responsible for it being in the same condition after the end of sailing.
You rent a boat for sailing in the Sound. This means that there may be waves and traffic with large boats in your area. WeSail keeps an eye on the weather and wind all the time and therefore you must have a phone with you during the entire voyage. WeSail therefore reserves, for your safety, the right to cancel your booking if we deem that the weather is not advisable to sail in.
If you plan to sail outside the area covered by the card on the tablet computer, you must arrange this with WeSail.
The channel in the Øresund is served by very large ships, and you must therefore stay away from it. The large ships have poor maneuverability and have difficulty seeing you. The fairway is drawn on the tablet computer.
If you encounter a boat, the right-of-way obligation generally applies. Keep right.
If the opposite is a sailing ship, you must give way to it. Engine gives way to sails.
Stay at a good distance from other boats, the larger a boat, the greater your distance.
Sail with life jacket.
Do not leave the boat, always have one by the steering gear. It is he / she who must save you if things go wrong.
It's you who is CAPTAIN, that is, it is your responsibility that everyone comes home and that the boat is in perfect condition when you return it.
And then just remember… ..
Be good to nature, it has been good to you.
